This pattern is available in English and Italian. Both patterns are included in your download.

This pullover is knitted in the round from the top down. The yoke is shaped with German Short Rows and increases along the shoulders. The front and the back are then worked flat separately to create arm openings, and joined again in the round to work to the hem. Instructions are written for 3 options in armhole finishing that are worked in the round: sleeveless, short sleeves and elbow length sleeves. Vertical lines in the grid pattern are made with columns of purl stitches. Surface crochet chain stitches are worked along these columns using a method demonstrated in the video tutorial linked in the pattern. It is also an option not to do the crochet lines if it is the desired appearance.

As the neck opening is wide and is considerably stretchable, all sizes begin with the same number of stitches for the neck band. The finished width of the neck opening can be adjusted slightly by adding tension with a crochet finishing on the inside of the neck band. The crochet finishing also provides stability that allows the pullover to drape comfortably on the body. A photo tutorial is included to show how the crochet finishing is done.

FINISHED BUST MEASUREMENT

Finished circumference at bust: 83.5 (97, 111, 125, 139) cm / 32¾ (38¼, 43¾, 49¼, 54¾) inches

The samples are shown in Size 2 with 11 cm / 4¼” positive ease at bust. Suggested ease: + 5 to 12.5 cm / 2 to 5”.

Note that if you knit your garment with more ease, the length you would want to knit for your sleeves may shorten.
